1. Drum inspection and maintenance
Drum wear inspection: Regularly check the wear of the drum, focusing on the rubber layer (if any) or metal surface on the drum surface. If obvious wear marks, dents or peeling are found on the surface of the drum, the drum should be replaced in a timely manner to ensure the smoothness of material transportation. Because worn rollers may cause vibration, displacement, and even damage to material packaging during material transportation.
Drum rotation inspection: manually rotate the drum to check if it can rotate flexibly. If the drum does not rotate smoothly, it may be due to bearing damage, journal wear, or foreign objects getting stuck. For situations where bearings are damaged, they need to be replaced in a timely manner; Neck wear can be resolved by repairing or replacing neck components; If foreign objects get stuck, clean them up and check if the protective device is intact to prevent them from entering again.
2. Lubrication and maintenance
Dust free oil injection: If practical conditions permit, an oil injection joint should be installed on lubricated parts such as reducers to ensure that the injected lubricating oil reduces or eliminates dust and dirt, and ensures the cleanliness of the oil quality.
Reasonable lubrication: The transmission components in the drum line should not have any accumulation, especially iron filings, iron wires, ropes, plastic films, etc. If these things exist, they will cause overheating and affect the life of the bearings and gears. In addition, the moving parts of the conveyor are not lubricated or poorly lubricated, which can easily lead to excessive wear of the track or bearings. Therefore, reasonable lubrication is necessary, and appropriate lubricants and advanced lubrication technologies should be used. Reasonable lubrication is very important for the efficiency and long service life of the conveyor.
Familiar with the parameter requirements of lubricants: When using lubricants to lubricate conveyor components, operators should understand the parameters and related instructions of the lubricant.

3. Other maintenance measures
Maintenance of the engine head gearbox: After the first quarter of operation, it is necessary to drain all the remaining oil in the gearbox, clean it with gasoline and diesel, and then add new lubricating oil in the middle of the investigation window.
Maintenance of the head motor transformer: Do not allow water to enter the motor. Once water enters, it may cause damage to the motor insulation and render the equipment inoperable due to fire.
Chain maintenance: The chain needs to be inspected more frequently, and butter and lubricating oil should be added frequently. Due to prolonged high-temperature operation of the chain, the lubricant will evaporate, causing increased noise and making it prone to crawling and other issues.

4. Common faults and solutions
Overheating of drum conveyor reducer: may be caused by long-term operation, excessive or insufficient oil in the reducer, or prolonged use of oil in the reducer. The solution includes reducing or adding oil to the reducer to achieve the standard quantity, cleaning the interior and promptly replacing the oil for repair or bearing replacement, and improving lubrication conditions.
The hydraulic coupling cannot transmit the rated torque: it may be caused by insufficient oil volume in the hydraulic coupling. The solution includes refueling the hydraulic coupling.
The broken shaft of the roller conveyor reducer may be caused by insufficient strength in the design of the high-speed shaft of the reducer. The solution includes inspecting and reinforcing the high-speed shaft of the gearbox.
Motor malfunction issues: may be caused by line faults, voltage drops, contactor faults, excessive continuous operation of the drum conveyor in a short period of time, overloading, over length, or conveyor belt jamming. The solution includes checking the circuit and voltage, replacing the contactor, reducing the number of continuous operations, and inspecting and cleaning the conveyor belt.
